A Long Week

Monday feels like a month ago. At the beginning of the week, I was still up in Adirondack heaven. On top of all the other beauty, the wildflowers are out in full force, as you can see above. Can’t wait to go back later this summer.

Midweek was a blur of coming home, laundry, groceries, cooking and copy editing. (That is, I have a several submitted articles that are going through copy editing, which means I need to answer a lot of editors’ questions.)

Then yesterday, I had minor surgery. Here’s how it went:

Nurse:  I’m going to give you something that will make you a little woozy.

Me: Okay.

Nurse: How are you doing?

Me: Huh?

Nurse: You’re surgery went fine. Want some juice?

God bless anesthesia. I was pretty sure it hadn’t affected me much, and this morning I felt well enough to make myself a piece of cinnamon toast. Except instead of cinnamon, I sprinkled it with cumin. This is not a a dish I recommend. I’ve spent the rest of the day loafing. Since most of you know I’m a complete word game addict, imagine my excitement when for the FIRST time ever, today I became Queen Bee in the NYT Spelling Bee game.

All parts (even brain) seem to be on the mend!
